Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred
  • ability to clean technically complex areas such as IR, Cardiac Cath, Mother-Baby, NICU, OR, ED
  • ability to operate light floor cleaning equipment
  • physical ability to lift and transport patients in emergencies
  • physical requirements including reaching, standing for long periods, squatting, bending, carrying or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 pounds or more up to 80% of the time
  • ability to climb ladders
  • willingness to wear required protective equipment and clothing
  • valid Indiana driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • no prior experience required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • ability to operate floor cleaning equipment
  • knowledge of sanitization procedures
  • ability to wear required protective gear
  • physical stamina to perform cleaning duties including lifting and climbing
  • willingness to work a scheduled Monday-Friday shift with every other weekend
  • valid Indiana driver’s license and proof of insurance

Job Duties

  • Clean and sanitize occupied patient units, office areas, clinics, treatment and procedural areas, and public spaces
  • remove refuse and soiled linens promptly and safely
  • operate light floor cleaning equipment for patient care areas
  • adhere to safety protocols including wearing protective equipment and clothing
  • assist in emergency patient transport if required
  • maintain cleaning supplies and equipment inventory
  • comply with environmental and government regulations regarding sanitation and safety
