Job Description

Highland Hills is a distinguished part of Trinity Senior Living Communities, which operates under the larger umbrella of Trinity Health—one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit Catholic health systems. Trinity Health is renowned for its commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare services across diverse populations. Highland Hills continues this legacy by dedicating itself to serving older adults with respect, care, and a warm, welcoming environment. As part of this mission, Highland Hills offers a continuum of senior living options, focusing on creating a home-like atmosphere that supports the health, dignity, and independence of its residents. The community values collaboration and inclusiveness among its staff, fostering an environment where every employee's unique contributions are celebrated and integrated into the culture. This robust foundation enables Highland Hills to deliver person-centered care that addresses the individual needs of each resident in a safe, sanitary, and comforting setting.

The Housekeeper (Environmental Support Assistant) position at Highland Hills is a vital role designed to uphold the cleanliness, safety, and overall welcoming atmosphere of the senior living facility. Reporting directly to the Environmental Services Manager or their designee, the housekeeper plays an essential part in maintaining high standards of sanitation throughout the community. This part-time role involves working rotating shifts to accommodate the dynamic needs of the facility and its residents. The housekeeper’s responsibilities encompass a wide range of cleaning duties aimed at providing a hygienic, comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff alike. From routine housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, and floor care to more specialized duties like deep cleaning during resident move-outs and managing laundry services, this position requires attention to detail and a genuine commitment to enhancing residents' daily living experiences.

Key functions of the role include thorough cleaning of both resident apartments and common areas, sanitizing bathrooms and kitchens, and maintaining general tidiness by emptying trash and recyclables. The housekeeper also supports the maintenance team by promptly reporting any lighting or equipment issues encountered during daily tasks. Moreover, strict adherence to safety protocols, infection control measures, and universal precautions is mandatory to ensure the wellbeing of residents and staff. Beyond technical skills, the role demands respectful and sensitive interaction with residents, emphasizing privacy, dignity, and confidentiality. The housekeeper is expected to anticipate resident needs and consistently go above and beyond to create an environment that feels both comfortable and welcoming. This position not only contributes to the physical upkeep of the facility but also significantly impacts residents’ quality of life by supporting the mission of Highland Hills to foster a nurturing and home-like community.

Successful candidates are those who bring strong communication and interpersonal skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work independently within a team-oriented, fast-paced setting. Basic computer literacy and strong organizational skills are necessary for managing daily tasks efficiently. Preference is given to those with previous experience in assisted living or working with the geriatric population, reflecting the specialized nature of senior care environments. Highland Hills is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to diversity, inclusion, and equity, ensuring all qualified applicants receive fair consideration regardless of race, color, religion, gender identity, or any other legally protected status.
