Job Description
We are a dedicated healthcare facility committed to providing a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. As a respected hospital, we uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation to support effective patient care and maintain regulatory compliance. Our Environmental Services Department plays a crucial role in achieving these goals through meticulous cleaning practices and attention to hospital hygiene protocols.
The role of Environmental Services Cleaner is essential in maintaining the overall cleanliness of patient rooms, surgical areas, public spaces, and various other departments within the hospital. This position involves selecting appropriate cleaning materials and supplies, preparing cleaning solutions according to established procedures, and safely operating cleaning equipment daily. The professional in this role is responsible for thoroughly cleaning patient rooms after discharge, ensuring all surfaces including floors, bathrooms, bedside tables, and blinds are sanitized to hospital standards.
Additionally, this position requires cleaning specialized areas such as Surgical and Catheterization Labs, as well as high-traffic public and staff zones including the Plaza and Medical Office Building (MOB). Maintaining linen stock quality and reporting any issues to the Environmental Services Director is also part of the job scope, ensuring the department is well-equipped to meet day-to-day demands.
The Environmental Services Cleaner will assist with floor cleaning, adhere strictly to CDC and hospital infection control policies when cleaning isolation rooms, and handle hazardous waste disposal safely following guidelines set by the Infection Control Committee. This role demands a strong ability to follow cleaning guidelines, accept supervision, and perform assigned duties efficiently while supporting the hospital's mission and values.
This full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to patient health outcomes indirectly by sustaining a hygienic environment. The organization offers equal employment opportunities and adheres to federal employment laws, promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace. Candidates selected for this role can expect to work in a collaborative team environment dedicated to excellence in healthcare support services.
