Cardinal Ritter Senior Services is a distinguished provider of person-centered care, inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ and dedicated to serving senior adults within the Archdiocese of Saint Louis. This faith-based organization focuses on delivering a comprehensive continuum of quality residential, healthcare, and supportive social services. Their mission is grounded in the values of compassion, dignity, and respect for human life, striving to enrich the lives of senior adults and help them live fully and meaningfully within their community. As part of the larger Catholic Charities family, Cardinal Ritter Senior Services emphasizes not only excellent care but also the spiritual and emotional well-being of those they serve.
The Housekeeping/Personal Care Aide (Housekeeping/PCA) role is a pivotal position at Cardinal Ritter Senior Services, where the individual is entrusted with the dual responsibility of providing personal care to senior adult residents and maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment. This position requires a compassionate and dedicated professional trained in delivering high-quality personal care tasks while upholding strict cleanliness standards throughout the facility. The Housekeeping/PCA plays a key role in supporting the overall health and well-being of the residents by ensuring their living spaces are hygienic and by assisting with daily living activities that promote independence and dignity.
The role involves a variety of duties ranging from maintaining sanitary conditions in common areas, bathrooms, and tiled floors, to managing cleaning supplies securely and efficiently. The successful candidate will prepare and organize housekeeping carts for their shifts and communicate any sanitation issues that may relate to changes in a resident’s health status directly to supervisory staff. Additionally, this role requires maintaining Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals used in the facility and promptly reporting supply needs to ensure smooth housekeeping operations.
The Housekeeping/PCA assists residents with personal care aligned with their plans of care, carefully documenting all interactions and promptly reporting any concerns or incidents. Communication and collaboration with team members are essential to maintain continuity of care and ensure safety, especially during emergencies. The role also involves attending mandatory in-services and ongoing training to remain current with industry standards and facility protocols. This position requires a respectful and caring approach that aligns with the organization’s mission to bring healing, help, and hope through compassionate presence.
Cardinal Ritter Senior Services supports an inclusive and equitable workplace environment that honors equal opportunity principles, welcoming qualified candidates without discrimination. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment screenings, including criminal background checks, drug screenings, vaccination verifications, and other role-specific health requirements. By joining this team, individuals are not only taking on a vital caregiving role but are also becoming part of a compassionate community dedicated to honoring the dignity and worth of every senior adult served.
