Forefront Healthcare is currently hiring part-time and PRN housekeepers at a beautiful facility located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The role of the housekeeper at Forefront is essential to ensuring that residents enjoy a sanitary and comfortable environment, which is a critical component to their overall health and well-being. This position involves daily housekeeping duties adhering closely to established standards and safety protocols as outlined by the facility and regulatory bodies.

The housekeeper’s responsibilities include cleaning floors, furnishings, fixtures, public spaces, and resident rooms using proper disinfecting methods and following federal, state, and facility policies and procedures. Employees in this role also participate in ongoing educational programs to remain current with best practices in the industry. Physical stamina and the ability to manage cleaning agents and equipment safely are important, as the job requires much walking, lifting, bending, and the handling of potentially hazardous materials. The position offers an hourly wage of $14.00 and includes work schedules that may involve days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the needs of the residents and the facility’s operating hours.

Job Requirements

Ability to read, write and speak English
High school graduate or equivalent education preferred
Minimum one year of housekeeping experience in a health care setting desired
General knowledge of cleaning and infection prevention
Verbal and writing abilities necessary to communicate and work effectively with various levels of staff, residents, family members and the public
Motor coordination and manual dexterity required to operate housekeeping equipment
Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
Ability to read, understand and follow directions and work assignments
Able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during emergency situations
Patience and tolerance toward staff, residents, and family members

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Provides daily housekeeping duties as assigned per Standard Operating Procedures
Closely follows daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
Cleans floors, including dust mop, wet mop, sweeping and vacuuming
Cleans furnishings that are both moveable and stationary throughout the facility
Cleans fixtures including restroom, light fixtures, water fountains, etc.
Dusts, disinfects, horizontal surfaces throughout the facility
Removes trash and cleans/disinfects waste containers
Cleans and disinfects restrooms in both the resident rooms and public spaces throughout the facility
Cleans public spaces throughout the facility including corridors, stairwells, elevators, waiting rooms, lobby, etc.
Cleans equipment and work areas as assigned by Manager
Follows facility’s fire and disaster plans and established procedures during drills and actual emergencies
Attends in-service educational programs
Understands and complies with federal, state, and facility rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Follows defined safety codes while performing all duties
Performs other department duties assigned by the Housekeeping/EVS or designee
