This role of Housekeeper is vital within the health and rehabilitation environment, where the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and customer service are essential. The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining designated areas in a clean, orderly, and attractive manner adhering strictly to infection control principles and universal precautions. This position ensures environmental safety and comfort for residents by performing duties such as cleaning rooms after discharge or transfer, monitoring for pest issues, and responding efficiently to maintenance work orders. In addition, the Housekeeper assists residents with small tasks such as hanging clothing, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
The position requires adherence to the mission, values, vision, and strategic goals upheld by Loretto. Employees are expected to demonstrate exemplary professionalism, kindness, and dedication to customer service, treating everyone with dignity and respect. The Housekeeper works closely not only with residents but with a broad spectrum of internal and external stakeholders including peers, family members, vendors, and community partners, promoting a culture of respect and service excellence.
Loretto values safety, requiring all employees to comply with health and safety policies, participate in training, and exercise safety awareness at all times. The Housekeeper must be proficient in handling cleaning equipment and capable of performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting, standing, walking, and moving light furniture throughout the workday. The work environment may expose the employee to odors, medical wastes, and unsanitary conditions, reinforcing the need for strict adherence to infection control protocols.
This full-time role offers an hourly pay range of $18.56 to $18.90. Benefits include excellent medical, dental, prescription, and vision insurance, disability coverage, tuition reimbursement programs, retirement plans like 401(k), discounted gym memberships, paid time off accrual, and more. The position also provides career advancement opportunities within Loretto’s 19 sites, contributing to personal and professional growth.
Overall, this Housekeeper position requires a motivated individual who not only embraces thorough cleaning standards but also values compassionate interaction with residents and the broader community. This is a role with a strong impact on the residents' well-being and the operational success of Loretto Health and Rehabilitation Center, aligning with its mission to provide unparalleled care and service.
