The role of Housekeeper at Southern Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center is pivotal in maintaining the clean and orderly environment that is essential to resident comfort and safety. The housekeeper will perform routine tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, wiping, polishing, and trash disposal while following a strict cleaning schedule that includes daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal duties.
Collaboration with nursing and other service departments is an important aspect of the job, ensuring minimal disruption to residents and optimal cleanliness standards within living and recreational spaces. The employee is also expected to safely assist in moving residents' belongings and to follow all biohazard and sanitation protocols strictly. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience in healthcare or similar setting preferred
- Ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols and schedules
- Physical ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks and assist with moving furniture and residents' belongings
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and emergency call-backs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety standards
- Must meet general health requirements including medical and physical examination
- Training in Standard Precautions, Exposure Control, Fire Drill, and Evacuation Procedures preferred

Job Duties
- Clean resident rooms and other interior and exterior facility areas under supervision
- Assist in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for residents
- Follow a regular schedule of all daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual cleaning requirements
- Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and recreational areas
- Dispose of refuse daily according to sanitation procedures
- Clean up spills, soiled areas, and other conditions as observed or directed
- Maintain a cleaning cart fully equipped with needed supplies
- Assist with transferring residents and belongings from one room to another
- Perform extensive cleaning of resident rooms upon discharge or death
- Report damage to walls, floors, furniture, equipment to supervisor
- Follow cleaning schedules as outlined in Housekeeping Policies and Procedures
- Maintain work area free of hazardous conditions
- Follow proper biohazard procedures in clean-up and removal of wastes
- Maintain work and storage areas in clean, neat, sanitary, and safe condition
- Attend in-service education programs
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information
- Protect residents from neglect, mistreatment and abuse
- Protect the personal property of residents
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or administrator
