The Housekeeper role at Cogir Senior Living is a critical position focused on creating and maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment within the community. This role plays a vital part in enhancing the overall well-being of residents by ensuring their living and communal spaces meet the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Housekeepers are responsible for routine cleaning tasks across various areas, including resident rooms, common areas, dining spaces, and administrative offices. In addition to performing duties such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces, housekeepers also handle laundering linens and trash disposal, all according to the community's established schedules and protocols. Safety precautions are paramount, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, adherence to infection control standards, and timely reporting of maintenance and safety issues.

Job Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least one year of housekeeping experience in a senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting
  • strong attention to detail
  • good time management skills
  • friendly and professional demeanor
  • knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment is preferred
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Perform routine cleaning of resident rooms, common areas, dining spaces, and administrative offices, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces
  • clean and disinfect bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, and mirrors
  • empty trash and recycling bins and replace liners
  • launder and replace linens, towels, and other textiles as needed
  • follow the community cleaning schedule and protocol according to community guidelines and follow established safety precautions
  • build positive relationships with residents by engaging in friendly, respectful interactions
  • respect residents' privacy and preferences while cleaning their living spaces
  • report any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or resident needs changes to the supervisor
  • use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and according to instructions
  • follow infection control and sanitation protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of waste
