Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in housekeeping preferred
- Effective communication skills in the primary language of the residents
- Ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Demonstrated interest and comfort working with seniors
- Ability to interact courteously with residents and staff
- Availability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift as needed
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of the residents
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Demonstrated interest in working with a senior population
- Courteous and friendly interaction with guests, residents, and staff
- Physical ability to perform required tasks including standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting
- Vision abilities including close and color vision
Job Duties
- Perform cleaning duties according to schedule in assigned areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges, and offices
- Sweep, dust, dust mop, and wet mop all floors and stairways
- Spot clean and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets, and runners
- Rotate runners in hallways and entryways
- Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower and sink fixtures and facilities
- Stock dispensers as necessary
- Scrub bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, and sills
- Maintain equipment and materials in a clean and orderly condition
- Collect trash and refuse from work areas and place in designated pick-up areas
- Collect, clean and redistribute the community laundry
- Maintain the commercial laundry in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition
- Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored and locked when not in use
- Keep cords, carts, equipment and other hazards clear of exits and compliant with fire codes
- Report needed repairs and supply and equipment needs to the Lead Housekeeper
- Perform other duties as assigned
