Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years of housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
  • ability to follow both oral and written instructions
  • physical ability to perform cleaning tasks involving bending, lifting, and reaching
  • strong communication skills
  • legal authorization to work in the United States
  • willingness to work overtime and be classified as essential personnel
  • adherence to pre-employment screening including criminal background check and drug testing

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment operation
  • ability to follow instructions both oral and written
  • proficiency in using cleaning supplies and maintaining equipment
  • strong customer service attitude and effective communication skills
  • ability to work independently, multitask, and establish priorities
  • physical capability to perform tasks such as bending, lifting, and reaching for extended periods
  • awareness of safety compliance and accountability for assigned tasks
  • ability to adapt to a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment

Job Duties

  • Empty waste receptacles and replace waste liners
  • sweeps, mops, and buffs floors
  • vacuums and shampoos rugs
  • strips and refinishes floors as needed
  • cleans bathroom basins, fixtures, mirrors, stall doors, toilets, showers, vents, and stocks bathrooms with soap, toilet tissue, and paper towels
  • cleans areas requiring special cleaning methods such as patient beds, exam tables, IV poles, wheelchairs, carts, and surgical lighting using specific cleansers and sterilized equipment
  • collects and sends dirty linens and towels to laundry
  • disposes and transports solid waste
  • cleans vertical and horizontal surfaces including seating, tabletops, desks, sinks, doors, dispensers, water fountains, vents, bedside tables, IV poles, light switches, floors, walls, and windows
  • cleans restrooms including faucets, sinks, toilets, tubs, show ers, stall partitions, and receptacles
  • serves as liaison between customers, patients, nurses, researchers, and students
  • participates in internal activities and training as required
  • may perform other duties as assigned
