Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is a vital organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others within the Marine Corps Community. As a comprehensive program, MCCS offers a wide array of services and support systems designed to improve the well-being and morale of those who serve and those who support them. The organization thrives on a team-oriented environment that includes military personnel, civilian employees, contractors, and volunteers, all working collaboratively to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of its operations. MCCS is deeply committed to serving the Corps with unwavering dedication, fostering a workplace culture that values service, respect, and support for the military community. This commitment is reflected not only in the services provided but also in the organization’s personnel policies and its emphasis on developing a supportive and inclusive work environment.

This particular position is located at Camp Pendleton, CA, a major Marine Corps base that supports a large population of active-duty Marines and their families. The role being advertised is for a Housekeeper at the NA-02 level, a crucial position responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in guest rooms. The Housekeeper will be entrusted with tasks such as making beds, changing linens, dusting and polishing furniture, sweeping and vacuuming floors, shampooing rugs, and sanitizing lavatories, among other duties. The housekeeper is expected to adhere strictly to safety regulations and standards, use required safety equipment appropriately, and report any workplace hazards or incidents promptly.

The position involves the use of both manual and powered equipment, including heavy industrial-type scrubbers and buffers for floor maintenance, as well as ladders for cleaning walls and windows. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and heavier objects with assistance, reflecting the physically demanding nature of the job. Candidates must also be knowledgeable about the proper care of carpets and furniture, the use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions, and stain removal techniques.

In addition to the technical and physical requirements, the Housekeeper role at MCCS entails upholding principles of equal employment opportunity and prevention of sexual harassment, fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace. The position is critical to the overall mission of the MCCS, as cleanliness and maintenance greatly contribute to the comfort and satisfaction of the Marines and their families who rely on the organization’s facilities and services.

Applicants are required to submit their applications online through the MCCS Careers website, with clear instructions on uploading necessary supporting documents such as college transcripts, military service records, and proof of spousal preferences if applicable. MCCS emphasizes equal opportunity employment, reasonable accommodations for disabilities, and a drug-free workplace. Employment decisions are contingent upon thorough background and suitability checks to ensure the safety and integrity of the workplace.

This opportunity offers the chance to be part of a respected community-centric organization dedicated to supporting the Marine Corps community in a meaningful way while working in a dynamic and inclusive environment that fosters teamwork and professional growth.
