Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal
- knowledge of proper cleaning and disinfecting techniques
- ability to maintain janitorial supplies and equipment
- capability to work flexible hours including before and after regular work hours and emergencies
- ability to follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment
- physical ability to handle the demands of cleaning work

- willingness to cover for absent workers

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning services preferred
- ability to work independently and as part of a team

- knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

- ability to follow detailed instructions
- physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness in residence halls, apartments, academic buildings, classrooms, athletic and recreational facilities, offices, and service areas
- clean doors, glass entrances, vacuum, sweep, mop, and dust assigned areas
- clean and disinfect bathrooms and showers
- clean laundry rooms and laundry equipment
- clean locker rooms, classrooms including chalkboards, whiteboards, desks, chairs, and lecterns
- clean laboratories according to protocol
- complete detail and project cleaning and inform supervisor of status
- clean student rooms and restrooms during summer sessions
- maintain janitor closets and storage areas
- order supplies and keep cleaning equipment in working condition
- report malfunctions
- perform weekly equipment inventory
- arrange building spaces for events
- set up tables and chairs
- report emergency maintenance issues
- report vandalism or theft
- clean light lenses and diffusers
- shovel snow and apply ice melt to maintain safe campus
- monitor snow and ice control process and inform supervisor
- be available for work before, after hours, and during emergencies
- comply with safety rules and use personal protective equipment
- clean bodily fluids or hazardous materials following safety procedures
- cover for absent coworkers
- perform other assigned duties
