Currently, Hotel Equities is seeking a remarkable Housekeeper for the Laquinta Inn & Suites South located in Lubbock, TX. This role is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appeal of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring guests have a comfortable and positive stay. The Housekeeper’s responsibilities are driven by the objective to meet and exceed established cleanliness standards, ultimately enhancing guest satisfaction and maximizing hotel revenues. The Housekeeper for Laquinta Inn & Suites South will handle a variety of cleaning duties that include preparing guest rooms and public spaces to the highest standards, restocking amenities, and ensuring all hotel equipment is in proper working order. They will manage cleaning carts and storerooms, keeping them organized to promote efficiency and ease of service. The role involves meticulous cleaning tasks such as dusting, polishing furniture, cleaning windows and fixtures, and ensuring sanitary restroom environments. The Housekeeper must be capable of lifting, moving, and maneuvering equipment, furniture, and supplies necessary to maintain the hotel’s cleanliness. Additionally, they will work closely with other departments to support the overall excellence of hotel operations.
This role requires the Housekeeper to have a strong knowledge of general cleaning principles, the use of cleaning products, and the operation of standard cleaning equipment. The position demands significant physical stamina, including the ability to lift heavy objects and work in varied conditions, including areas with exposure to chemicals and heat. Communication skills are also essential, as the Housekeeper must interact respectfully and efficiently with guests and staff, and document maintenance or safety issues accurately.

Job Requirements
- Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products and operation of standard cleaning equipment
- Must have vision to see minute debris in poorly lit areas and to read instructions
- Must have upper body strength to lift up to 50lbs continually during an 8-hour shift
- Must have dexterity to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture
- Must be able to work with arms raised overhead for extended periods
- Must be able to maneuver fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50lbs through hallways and closets
- Experience with cleaning standards of Marriott, Hilton, IHG or Wyndham
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to perform prolonged strenuous activity in climate-controlled environments
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals routinely
- Basic residential cleaning equipment knowledge such as vacuum and floor buffers
- Ability to read and write to complete paperwork and log issues
- Strong communication skills for guest and staff interaction
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or secondary qualification or equivalent
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or comparable cleaning standards
- Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles and product use

Job Duties
- Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cart with supplies, maintaining carts and storerooms in clean and orderly fashion to enhance efficiency and ease of cleaning rooms
- Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways, often using ladders or stools to clean hard to reach areas
- Washes shower walls and tubs, cleans toilets and stall walls, wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks and walls to maintain clean and sanitary restrooms
- Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities, restocks literature ensuring adequate supply for guests
- Washes all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas
- Dusts and polishes furniture, fixtures and wall hangings including vents and ceiling corners
- Strips bed of all linen and remakes with fresh linens, checking for cleanliness and replacing if soiled
- Checks closets for cleanliness, wipes closet doors, handles and shelves, restocks guest room supplies such as hangers, blankets and pillows
- Vacuums rooms, public areas and hallways, moving heavy furniture to clean hard-to-reach areas
- Inspects door and window locks for safety and security, immediately alerting management of any concerns
- Inspects room equipment such as TV, lights, faucets and radios, reporting maintenance issues promptly
- Secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys and supplies at all times
- Maintains friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor
- Assists the laundry department with sorting, washing, drying, folding and distributing linen
- Cleans patio and balcony areas by sweeping, hosing floors, wiping furniture and windows, and picking up garbage
- Provides assistance to other employees and departments as needed to promote overall hotel performance
