This particular role is integral to the housekeeping department within the hotel segment of Marriott Vacations Worldwide. The position focuses on ensuring that all guest rooms, bathrooms, and related areas are maintained to the highest cleanliness and hygiene standards, as set by the Executive Housekeeper. As a housekeeper, the individual will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all assigned areas, including rooms, bathrooms, and kitchens, replenishing supplies and amenities according to hotel protocols, and maintaining orderliness of linen closets and carts. The role demands vigilance in reporting any irregularities or suspicious situations to supervisors and management, ensuring the safety and security of both guests and the property. Additionally, the housekeeper will be expected to communicate effectively with guests, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints with courtesy and professionalism.

The position requires physical stamina as it involves frequent walking, bending, stooping, lifting, and other movements necessary for thorough cleaning and maintenance. A strong knowledge of safety procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential to comply with OSHA regulations and ensure a safe working environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Clean and sanitize all assigned rooms and bathrooms/kitchens
  • clean guest room windows and balcony to hotel standards
  • replace all amenities and linens according to hotel standards
  • keep cart and linen closets clean and orderly
  • report irregularities or suspicious circumstances on the guest floors
  • notify manager of discrepancies such as vacant rooms
  • turn in lost and found items as per department standard
  • use equipment and supplies in an appropriate and professional manner
  • complete special cleaning projects
  • follow the designated sequence of room assignments
  • greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner
  • satisfy guest requests for information and service
  • communicate guest complaints to supervisor
  • report items of great value left unsecured in hallways and guest rooms to management
  • maintain guest confidence, privacy, and security of guests, guest rooms and their belongings
  • perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
