Job Description
Southcoast Health is a distinguished not-for-profit, charitable health system dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services across Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. With a robust network comprising multiple hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities, Southcoast Health is committed to delivering world-class, inclusive medical care in the heart of local communities. Celebrated for fostering an inclusive, ethical, and supportive workplace, Southcoast Health nurtures a culture of well-being, respect, and diversity among its caregivers and staff. This ethos has earned the organization the prestigious recognition of being voted the 'Best Place to Work' for seven consecutive years, highlighting a workplace environment where employees thrive while making meaningful contributions to community health.
Joining Southcoast Health as a Housekeeper I offers an exciting per diem opportunity at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, Massachusetts. This role is designed to support the hospital's commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and orderly environments that promote health and safety for patients, staff, and visitors alike. Scheduled for evening shifts from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with weekend and holiday rotations, the position emphasizes flexibility and the vital role of environmental services in healthcare settings. The pay rate ranges from $16.32 to $22.94 per hour, depending on experience, reflecting Southcoast Health's commitment to competitive compensation.
As a Housekeeper I, you will work under the general supervision of the Team Leader of Environmental Services or their designee, where your responsibilities will involve meticulous cleaning and servicing of assigned areas to uphold established standards and procedures. Your role will be pivotal in creating hygienic and welcoming environments necessary for effective patient care and operational excellence. Southcoast Health supports employee growth and well-being with comprehensive benefits, including a generous earned time off package, employee well-being programs, 403B retirement plans with company match, tuition assistance, federal loan forgiveness programs, and professional development opportunities including customized leadership training. This position welcomes applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent and requires individuals to be at least 18 years of age. Adherence to vaccination policies for seasonal influenza and COVID-19 is also mandated, ensuring a safe healthcare environment for all.
By becoming part of Southcoast Health, you will join a team that values dedication, compassion, and excellence. You will directly contribute to the quality and safety of the healthcare environment, helping to deliver superior patient experiences through pristine facilities. With every task performed, you support the broader mission of Southcoast Health — to provide compassionate, inclusive, and comprehensive healthcare close to home, making a tangible difference in the lives of the people and communities served. This Housekeeper I role is an opportunity to uphold these values, grow professionally in a supportive health system, and be part of a community-focused team where your efforts truly matter.
