The role of Housekeeper I at Oklahoma Heart Hospital is pivotal in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the hospital's facilities. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the healthcare delivery environment by ensuring that all designated areas are cleaned to the highest standards. Responsibilities include damp dusting, vent cleaning, trash removal, sink and stool scouring, floor mopping and vacuuming, and washing windows and door frames. Beyond cleanliness, the Housekeeper I also manages the stocking of paper products and the maintenance of housekeeping carts and equipment, ensuring they remain clean, contained, and fully operational. Reporting directly to the Environmental Services Manager, the Housekeeper I is an essential member of the team dedicated to upholding the hospital’s mission, vision, and values.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in housekeeping, preferably in healthcare
  • Ability to perform physical cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, and vacuuming
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Ability to adhere to safety and sanitation standards
  • Good communication skills
  • Dependability and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred
  • Housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Ability to perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties in assigned area
  • Maintain high level of cleanliness according to established procedures
  • Ability to follow schedules and cleaning protocols
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Clean designated and assigned areas
  • Damp dust horizontal surfaces and vents
  • Remove trash and empty waste receptacles
