This role is pivotal to ensuring that guest rooms and public areas are maintained at impeccable cleanliness and orderliness standards. The Housekeeper will be responsible for executing their duties under the guidance of the Executive Housekeeper or the Housekeeping Supervisor, receiving daily assignments and ensuring all areas are cleaned meticulously. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, physically able, and capable of effectively utilizing cleaning agents and equipment. The role demands proficiency in handling housekeeping carts, removing trash and dirty linens, maintaining public area cleanliness, and upholding brand standards for safety and cleanliness. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor, as they will interact with guests and other hotel staff regularly. This position requires flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends, and the capability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy items, standing for long periods, and climbing stairs. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends
- Physical capability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to stand for entire shift
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as vacuums and dishwashers
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and use of personal protective equipment
- Strong communication skills in English
- Commitment to teamwork and guest service

Job Duties
- Receive list of rooms and public spaces to be cleaned at start of shift
- Complete all pre-cleaning duties including guest supplies and housekeeping cart setup
- Utilize both hands for cleaning tasks such as changing linens and scrubbing
- Reach overhead to dust and clean tops of appliances
- Move light furniture to clean underneath
- Practice safe use of cleaning agents and wear personal protective equipment
- Prepare housekeeping cart for next day use
- Remove trash and dirty linen from guest suites
- Keep hallways, public areas, and closets clean and vacuumed
- Report missing items to Executive Housekeeper
- Use two-way radios, telephones, and housekeeping equipment
- Ensure proper care of housekeeping equipment and report maintenance needs
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- Maintain professional and friendly demeanor
- Be attentive, courteous, and efficient with guests and employees
- Comply with brand standards and regulations
- Establish good communication and teamwork
- Exhibit willingness to serve guest requests
- Communicate with staff to accommodate special requests
- Participate in meetings and events
- Be familiar with hotel policies and terminology
