The Home 2 Suites in Lubbock, TX, operated under the renowned Hotel Equities umbrella, is actively seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join their hospitality team. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for thoroughly cleaning and preparing guest rooms and public areas to meet established standards of cleanliness and propriety. In this role, you will engage in a variety of cleaning tasks including dusting, washing, vacuuming, and restocking supplies while ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene protocols. Your duties will involve using ladders and cleaning equipment, checking room amenities for working order, and reporting any maintenance or safety concerns promptly. The position demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with a proactive attitude. You will also assist the laundry department as needed and contribute to maintaining the hotel's outdoor areas, such as patios and balconies, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or secondary qualification
  • experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or cleaning standards
  • basic knowledge of cleaning principles and products
  • vision ability to see dirt and read instructions
  • upper body strength to lift up to 50lbs continually
  • dexterity to push, pull and move equipment and furniture
  • ability to work with arms raised above head
  • ability to maneuver loaded maid cart weighing up to 50lbs
  • experience using residential and commercial cleaning equipment
  • exposure to hazardous chemicals
  • able to perform prolonged physical activity indoors and in laundry areas
  • excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Cleans and prepares guest rooms and public areas to meet cleanliness standards
  • retrieves items and sets up cleaning cart with supplies
  • cleans windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures including hard to reach areas
  • washes shower walls, tubs, toilets and restrooms ensuring sanitation
  • replaces towels, soaps and room amenities and restocks literature
  • washes and cleans hard floor areas by hand
  • dusts and polishes furniture, fixtures and wall hangings
  • strips and remakes beds checking cleanliness
  • vacuums rooms, public areas and hallways including underneath furniture
  • inspects door and window locks and alerts management of safety issues
  • inspects room equipment and reports maintenance needs
  • secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys and supplies
  • maintains cheerful and courteous demeanor
  • assists laundry department with linen sorting and folding
  • cleans patio and balcony areas
  • provides assistance to other employees and departments as needed
