The Housekeeper role at PruittHealth is integral to maintaining a sanitary and welcoming environment within the facility. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive cleaning services to ensure that the surroundings are safe, comfortable, and hygienic for residents, staff, and visitors. By adhering to facility policies and procedures and complying with all relevant regulations, the Housekeeper helps promote a positive quality of life for residents and supports infection control measures. The position involves a variety of cleaning tasks, ranging from general floor care including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming, to detailed cleaning of bathrooms, glass surfaces, and resident rooms. It includes responsibilities such as trash removal, furniture cleaning and moving, curtain maintenance, and mattress care.

Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience with healthcare housekeeping or environmental services preferred
- ability to follow center procedures and infection control standards
- good physical stamina to perform cleaning duties
- reliable and motivated to maintain cleanliness standards
- willingness to work as part of a team
Job Duties
- sweeps, damp mops, and wet mops tile floors
- vacuums carpeted rooms as applicable
- empties trash cans, cleans exterior, cleans interior, and replaces with a clean can liner
- cleans bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets, following center procedures
- cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows
- cleans behind and underneath furnishings
- follows infection control standards while performing cleaning
- prevents/removes wax/dirt buildup in corners, around baseboards, and in doorways
- changes soiled privacy curtains and draperies for the outside windows as needed
- removes and re-hangs curtains and draperies for the outside windows, using a ladder
- dusts/damp cleans surfaces in patient/resident rooms including furniture, bed frames, windowsills
- moves furniture to clean behind/underneath according to center procedures
- turns bed mattresses after cleaning
