Job Description
PruittHealth is a prominent healthcare organization committed to providing exceptional care and support to residents within its community facilities. Recognized for its compassionate and comprehensive approach, PruittHealth offers a range of services aimed at improving the quality of life for seniors and individuals requiring long-term care. The company embraces a family-oriented philosophy encapsulated in its motto, "Family Makes Us Stronger," emphasizing loving, giving, and caring for every member of its extended family — residents, staff, and their own families alike. With a growing network of care centers, PruittHealth maintains high standards for both its clinical and environmental operations to ensure a safe, comfortable, and homelike atmosphere for those it serves.
This position is a vital member of the environmental services team, specifically focusing on housekeeping duties within a healthcare facility. The role is designed to provide essential cleaning services that adhere to the strict regulatory standards set by state and federal laws, maintaining not only a sanitary environment but also one that promotes the dignity and well-being of residents. Housekeeping is more than just cleaning; it is about creating a welcoming environment that enhances the residents' quality of life while ensuring safety and comfort for staff and visitors.
The housekeeper will be responsible for tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, and detailed cleaning of resident rooms and common areas. Special attention is given to infection control standards and proper handling of hazardous materials to safeguard the health of all occupants. The position may require occasional use of ladders for tasks such as changing curtains and draperies and will involve moving furniture to thoroughly clean behind and underneath. The role demands diligence in maintaining cleanliness, preventing buildup of dirt or wax on floors, and ensuring all cleaning procedures incorporate recommended safety measures like the use of wet floor signs.
On-the-job training is provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals new to the healthcare housekeeping field or those seeking to develop their skills further in a supportive environment. While previous experience in healthcare housekeeping or environmental services and a high school diploma or equivalent are preferred, these are not mandatory, allowing a wide range of candidates to contribute and grow within PruittHealth. The environment is inclusive and non-discriminatory, embracing diversity and equal opportunity for all qualified applicants.
In summary, this housekeeping role at PruittHealth is essential in supporting the facility’s broader mission of delivering compassionate, person-centered care. By maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, the housekeeper directly contributes to the overall therapeutic milieu, helping residents feel safe, respected, and valued.
