Job Description

Hermitage Three Chopt is a distinguished healthcare and senior living community dedicated to enriching the lives of its residents by fostering a supportive environment where age does not define the person. Our mission, Enriching Life's Journey, underscores our commitment to autonomy, dignity, and self-direction, catering to a diverse population that includes independent living apartment residents, assisted living individuals, memory support residents, and nursing care households. The organization is built on core values such as Culture, Stewardship, Partnership, Diversity, Hospitality, and Quality, which collectively guide our team's daily interactions and service delivery. At Hermitage Three Chopt, we pride ourselves on creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that promotes the well-being and personal growth of all residents through comprehensive care and specialized services.

The position of Housekeeper at Hermitage Three Chopt is a full-time role, requiring 40 hours per week, typically from 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends. This is a temporary position with an undetermined duration at this time. The Housekeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in assigned areas across the community according to established schedules and departmental protocols. Responsibilities extend beyond routine cleaning to include the care, maintenance, and proper use of housekeeping equipment and supplies. This position demands attentiveness to detail, a strong sense of responsibility, and adherence to safety standards including the proper handling of cleaning chemicals, use of personal protective equipment, and compliance with safety data sheets (SDS).

Housekeepers may be assigned to various residential and healthcare support areas, encompassing independent living apartments, villas, cottages, assisted living households, and memory support neighborhoods, as designated by supervisors. The role also involves handling trash, soiled and clean linens, preparing work carts, and coordinating supply requisitions while keeping thorough records of supply usage. The Housekeeper is expected to attend all departmental training and participate in in-service sessions to continuously enhance their skills and knowledge. Additionally, reporting unsafe work conditions or equipment repair needs to supervisors is vital to maintaining a safe and effective work environment.

This position requires physical endurance, including the ability to lift up to 30 pounds unaided and push up to 50 pounds, as well as extensive walking, bending, stooping, and prolonged standing. Housekeepers work both indoors and outdoors throughout the community and must be prepared to respond to emergencies as necessary. Flexibility in work schedule, including staffing for holidays, inclement weather, and occasional weekend or night shifts, is essential. Exposure to typical healthcare environment conditions such as sights, sounds, and odors, including interactions with persons with dementia, is a standard aspect of this role.

Joining Hermitage Three Chopt means becoming part of a team that values collaboration and professional growth while making a meaningful impact in the lives of older adults. Our comprehensive benefits package and supportive work culture enable team members to thrive professionally and personally, all while contributing to a community that respects individuality and promotes wellness.
