Cantex is currently looking for a Housekeeping Assistant to join their team. This is a pivotal role within the housekeeping department, responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas according to facility protocols. The position involves performing various cleaning tasks such as mopping floors, dusting, shampooing carpets, and sanitizing surfaces, all aimed at creating a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff alike. The Housekeeping Assistant works under the guidance of the Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure the facility meets the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance is helpful
- ability to read, write, and speak English
- knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- capacity to perform physical cleaning tasks
- ability to follow safety protocols and guidelines
- good communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance is helpful
- experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful

Job Duties
- Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas on a daily basis and in accordance with facility protocols
- uses proper chemicals in proper portions
- may dust mop, wet mop, or spot-mop floors
- empties trash containers, replaces liners as appropriate and disposes of trash in proper receptacles
- vacuums carpets as directed by supervisor
- utilizes proper chemicals and equipment to wash and dry windows
- reports repair needs to supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate
- requests needed supplies and equipment from supervisor
- identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules
- has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it
- attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems
- responsible for assuring patient/resident safety
- performs other duties and tasks as assigned
