Job Description

This position is for a full-time Housekeeper who will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitary standards of the community. The Housekeeper will work Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM and receive a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16 to $17. The Housekeeper will be responsible for performing a wide variety of cleaning, servicing, and replenishing duties across the resident areas, the Health Care Center, and administrative spaces to ensure all areas meet the established sanitation and cleanliness standards. This includes detailed cleaning tasks such as servicing resident rooms upon discharge, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, dusting furniture, mopping floors, and emptying trash. Beyond routine cleaning, the Housekeeper will also participate in team cleaning projects throughout the facility, contributing to a clean and safe environment for both residents and staff.

Additional duties involve servicing lounges, restrooms, nurses' stations, and offices by replenishing supplies like soap, paper towels, and tissues. The role demands a proactive approach to ensure the maintenance of floors, carpets, windows, walls, and furniture, including specialized tasks such as polishing chrome items, cleaning drapes and vents, defrosting refrigerators, and sanitizing trash containers. The Housekeeper also supports other team members by providing backup when needed and assisting with setting up and dismantling meeting areas for special events.

Job Duties

  • perform a variety of cleaning, servicing and replenishing duties in assigned resident and Health Care Center areas to ensure sanitation and cleanliness
  • service and clean resident rooms upon discharge including changing bed linens, turning and wiping mattresses, cleaning bathrooms, replacing towels and stocking items
  • participate in planning, scheduling, and implementing team cleaning projects throughout the facility
  • sweep, mop, clean and refinish floors
  • vacuum and shampoo rugs and carpets as assigned
  • clean lounges, restrooms, nurses stations, offices and replenish supplies
  • provide team support and backup for other housekeepers
  • wash windows, walls, mirrors, shelves and furniture
  • clean and polish chrome and other metal items
  • clean drapes, lights, vents, wheelchairs and stretchers
  • clean and defrost refrigerators
  • pick up trash, empty garbage containers and remove trash to disposal area
  • sanitize trash containers and replace liners
  • pick up and transport soiled linen, assist in unloading stock items
  • set up and dismantle facilities for meetings and special events
  • replenish soap, paper towels and tissue supplies
  • report deficiencies in equipment, furniture and fixtures
  • create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and a positive, calm environment
