This full-time Housekeeping position at Northern Nevada Medical Center offers a flexible evening shift schedule amounting to 40 hours per week, coupled with comprehensive benefits. The Housekeeper plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe hospital environment, which directly contributes to patient comfort and safety. This role involves routine cleaning of multiple areas including patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical spaces, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways following established policies and procedures. Housekeepers utilize appropriate cleaning chemicals and supplies, transport trash and hazardous waste to designated disposal areas, and observe strict infection control protocols such as hand hygiene, standard precautions, and isolation procedures. The position also includes participation in performance improvement initiatives, emphasizing the hospital’s commitment to continuous quality enhancement. Job Duties
- Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner
- Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
- Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area
- Follows all infection control practices including hand hygiene techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions
- Participates in performance improvement activities
