Housekeepers at Arbor Acres are expected to adhere to stringent cleaning protocols using appropriate personal protective equipment and cleaning chemicals to maintain a sanitary environment. Daily duties include dusting, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, bed making, and linen changes, alongside specialized tasks like cobweb removal and detailed attention to housekeeping areas which exceed the organization’s high cleanliness standards. Physical stamina is required to perform tasks such as prolonged standing, lifting up to 30 pounds, and maneuvering in environments requiring bending, squatting, and reaching.

This position reports directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor and the Director of Environmental Arts, emphasizing a clear chain of communication and accountability. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, capable of working flexible hours to meet the needs of this 24-hour operation, and able to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members. While a high school diploma is preferred, it is not mandatory, and the organization is willing to train committed candidates with relevant experience or a strong work ethic. Bilingual abilities are considered an asset, helping to put residents and families at ease in a diverse community setting.
