Job Description

St Joseph's Health, in partnership with Trinity Health, is a leading healthcare organization committed to serving our communities through compassionate care that embodies the spirit of the Gospel. Together, we strive to be a transforming healing presence within our communities, dedicated to improving health and providing excellent patient experiences. Our organization emphasizes a mission-driven approach to healthcare, focusing on fostering an environment where every patient, visitor, and employee feels respected and valued. With a robust framework of core values, we offer a workplace culture that is both inclusive and supportive, promoting personal and professional growth for our staff. We take pride in maintaining high standards of care, safety, and regulatory compliance across all of our facilities.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Full-Time Environmental Services Associate to join our team. This position is scheduled for the Day Shift, typically from 7am to 3:30pm, and includes working every other weekend and every other holiday to ensure continuous cleanliness and safety within our healthcare environment. The role is essential in performing all cleaning functions in assigned areas to maintain sanitary conditions critical for patient care and overall hospital operations. The focus of cleaning activities will include patient care areas, non-patient areas, and common spaces throughout our hospital. The ideal candidate will help uphold the organization's commitment to safety and regulatory compliance and will perform other duties as assigned to assist in achieving the overall goals of the division and hospital.

This role is both physically demanding and vital, involving the use of various specialized cleaning equipment such as automatic floor machines, burnishers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners. Candidates must be proficient in using these devices, alongside a variety of cleaning supplies and chemicals. The working environment includes industrial settings and occasionally clinical areas where there may be exposure to blood, body fluids, and other potentially hazardous materials, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols. Because of the nature of the job, physical attributes such as the ability to perform heavy work, including lifting, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, and prolonged periods of walking and standing, are crucial.

Our Environmental Services Associates interact with all hospital departments, medical staff, patients, visitors, vendors, and regulatory agencies, playing a fundamental role in creating a clean and safe environment conducive to delivering excellent patient care. Compensation for this full-time position ranges from $16.20 to $23.50 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. We also offer an inclusive workplace environment where every colleague’s unique qualities are respected and valued. We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and we encourage all qualified applicants to apply without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status.
