The role of the Housekeeper at PruittHealth plays a vital part in this mission by providing essential cleaning services that promote a homelike atmosphere within the facility. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility by performing routine and periodic cleaning tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures as well as relevant regulatory standards. The Housekeeper will handle a variety of tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, and cleaning of bathrooms, glass surfaces, and resident rooms. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to infection control practices, and proactive maintenance such as floor care and dusting, ensuring that all areas remain hygienic and pleasant. Additionally, the Housekeeper may be required to handle tasks such as moving furniture for thorough cleaning, changing and rehanging curtains, and mattress turning, all of which contribute significantly to resident comfort and health. Job Requirements
- No previous experience required on the job training is provided
- Ability to follow infection control procedures
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Physical ability to perform manual cleaning tasks including lifting and moving furniture
- Reliable and punctual work ethic
- Good communication skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience with healthcare housekeeping or environmental services preferred
Job Duties
- Sweeps damp mops and wet mops tile floors
- Vacuums carpeted rooms as applicable
- Empties trash cans cleans exterior cleans interior and replaces with a clean can liner
- Cleans bathroom sinks fixtures and toilets following center procedures
- Cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors pictures and windows
- Cleans behind and underneath furnishings
- Follows infection control standards while performing cleaning
