The role of Housekeeper at MBK Senior Living is a vital position responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety across resident apartments, common areas, and workspaces. This full-time position, working Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., involves executing comprehensive cleaning duties to ensure a hygienic and welcoming environment. Beyond cleaning, the Housekeeper plays an essential role in supporting the community's well-being by adhering to safety protocols, managing supplies responsibly, and fostering positive interactions with residents and staff.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred
  • compassionate and able to interact effectively with elderly residents
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • background clearances and health screening including negative TB test required
  • excellent communication skills in English
  • ability to follow instructions carefully
  • must handle relationships with professionalism
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • must present a positive and professional image
  • physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing up to 250 pounds
  • ability to use cleaning equipment
  • comply with safety and regulatory requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
  • compassion for the elderly and ability to interact effectively with diverse populations
  • demonstrated ability to provide quality housekeeping services in a resident-centered environment
  • age 18 or older
  • ability to complete required background clearances, health screening, and negative TB test within 7 days of employment
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • ability to follow written and spoken directions
  • tactful and professional interpersonal skills
  • strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • positive and professional image presentation

Job Duties

  • Perform comprehensive cleaning and sanitation of resident apartments, public areas, and offices
  • dust, fluff, and straighten furniture in internal and external public areas
  • follow established work and cleaning schedules
  • ensure proper use and posting of caution and safety signs during cleaning tasks
  • monitor and remove trash and waste from inside and outside community areas
  • maintain a safe environment by using appropriate personal protective equipment and safety gear
  • securely store cleaning supplies and hazardous materials
  • follow safety protocols for chemicals, cleaning solutions, and waste disposal
  • organize and maintain workspaces free of hazards
  • greet and engage residents warmly
  • respond courteously to requests and report resident needs or repair issues
  • perform laundry services as needed
  • comply with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies
  • encourage teamwork and open communication with co-workers and other departments
  • perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff
