Job Description

Silver Birch of Fort Wayne South is a distinguished community dedicated to providing exceptional living experiences for its residents. As part of Silver Birch Living, a recognized leader in senior living communities, this establishment prides itself on fostering a welcoming and supportive environment. The company is committed to maintaining high standards of care and comfort, ensuring that every resident enjoys a safe, clean, and nurturing home. With a culture grounded in kindness, teamwork, and reliability, Silver Birch Living offers not only exceptional services to its residents but also a fulfilling and rewarding workplace for its employees. The company has earned the Certified Great Place to Work® designation for 2024 and 2025, reflecting its commitment to creating a positive and inclusive work environment where every team member feels valued and supported.

In the role of Housekeeper within the Environmental Services Team at Silver Birch of Fort Wayne South, you will play a vital role in upholding the community’s cleanliness and safety standards. This is an essential position focused on creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for all residents. Your responsibilities will include cleaning and maintaining common areas such as hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, and private resident rooms. You will be entrusted with following daily cleaning schedules meticulously and performing all assigned tasks each shift. Attention to detail and respect for resident privacy are paramount, requiring you to always knock before entering rooms and handle cleaning supplies and chemicals safely and according to established protocols.

This position involves a variety of duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, cleaning bathrooms, mirrors, windows, and light fixtures. Additionally, you will change bed linens, make beds as needed, collect and deliver resident laundry promptly, and report any maintenance or safety concerns to your supervisor. At the end of each shift, you will restock and organize cleaning supplies to ensure readiness for the next day. The role offers a flexible working arrangement with some expectations for weekend, evening, or holiday shifts. A high school diploma or GED is helpful, and while housekeeping experience is a plus, the primary qualities sought are dependability, attention to detail, and pride in your work. Being friendly, respectful, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team is essential.

Silver Birch Living not only prioritizes resident wellbeing but also supports its employees with benefits designed to enhance work-life balance and career growth. Benefits include pay on demand allowing you to access your earnings when needed, an attendance recognition program to reward reliability, paid time off for rest and rejuvenation, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance through BlueCross BlueShield, the Invest in Excellence Program encouraging professional development, employee emergency assistance for unexpected challenges, and various growth opportunities within the company. Joining Silver Birch means becoming part of a caring community where your contributions are appreciated and make a meaningful difference every day.
