The Housekeeper role within the Environmental Services Team at Silver Birch of Fort Wayne South is crucial to maintaining the community's cleanliness and safety standards. Housekeepers contribute significantly to creating a pleasant and sanitary living space that enhances the quality of life for all residents. Key responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining community areas such as hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, and resident rooms according to daily cleaning schedules. The role requires respect for resident privacy, using cleaning supplies and chemicals safely, and attention to detail in tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and cleaning bathrooms, mirrors, windows, and light fixtures. Additional duties include changing bed linens, making beds, handling resident laundry promptly, reporting maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors, and restocking cleaning supplies. Successful candidates will be dependable, detail-oriented, friendly, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. A high school diploma or GED is beneficial, along with previous housekeeping or cleaning experience, although it is not mandatory. Flexibility to work some weekends, evenings, or holidays is also required. - follow daily cleaning schedules and complete assigned tasks each shift
- respect resident privacy, always knocking before entering rooms
- use cleaning supplies safely and follow proper procedures for chemicals
- sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish to keep spaces neat and sanitary
- clean bathrooms, mirrors, windows, and light fixtures
- change bed linens and make beds as needed
- collect and deliver resident laundry in a timely manner
- report maintenance or safety concerns to your supervisor
- restock and organize cleaning supplies at the end of your shift
