The role of the EVS Tech/Housekeeper at Glenaire is critical in ensuring an optimal living environment for the residents. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the community, which includes Independent Living areas, common spaces, and recreational areas. The EVS Tech/Housekeeper plays a pivotal role in supporting the health, safety, and comfort of residents by performing thorough cleaning duties covering a wide range of surfaces and fixtures. This position requires attention to detail, consistency, and a commitment to both safety and quality.

In this role, daily responsibilities include tasks such as stripping and remaking beds, cleaning walls, doors, light fixtures, vents, and disinfecting high-touch surfaces like door handles and light switches. The EVS Tech/Housekeeper will also be tasked with vacuuming carpets, cleaning floors with appropriate safety precautions in place, sanitizing bathroom fixtures, and polishing furnishings. The position demands proficiency in using a variety of cleaning and disinfecting solutions to remove dirt, grease, and stains effectively while maintaining a healthy environment. Self-inspections are an integral part of the role to ensure that cleaning standards meet Glenaire's expectations and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in cleaning or housekeeping preferred
  • Ability to use cleaning/disinfecting solutions properly
  • Capacity to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Willingness to follow safety protocols
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or environmental services preferred
  • Ability to follow detailed cleaning and safety procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Perform day-to-day environmental service functions as assigned
  • Strip and remake beds in Independent Living areas
  • Clean walls, doors, door handles/knobs, ceilings, light fixtures, vents, light switches/receptacle covers, thermostats, windows, baseboards and pictures by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
  • Remove dirt, dust, grease, film etc. from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions
  • Vacuum carpets and fill out carpet cleaning request forms when applicable
  • Clean floors to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, disinfecting, etc. (note: assure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties)
  • Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, apartments, common areas, recreational areas, bathrooms and entrance/exit ways
  • Clean, wash, sanitize and/or polish bathroom fixtures
  • Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, resident rooms, apartments, commons, recreational areas, etc., daily or as instructed
  • Perform self inspections
  • Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
