With a longstanding commitment to its community that spans over a century, Seattle Children’s serves as the premier pediatric and adolescent academic medical center for Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho. It has earned national recognition as one of the nation’s top children’s hospitals, consistently ranking in key specialty areas according to U.S. News & World Report. Their mission, encapsulated by the words Hope, Care, Cure, guides their efforts to ensure that every child receives the highest quality care regardless of the family’s ability to pay. This mission-driven organization is committed to advancing pediatric research, delivering exceptional patient care, and fostering a culture rooted in compassion, excellence, integrity, collaboration, equity, and innovation.

The role available is a Housekeeper position based at the Bellevue Clinic location, designed for full-time employment on the evening to night shift. This position is benefits eligible, offering a competitive hourly wage in the range of $21.30 to $30.33, reflecting the candidate’s skills, experience, and expertise. The Housekeeper plays an essential role in maintaining the hospital’s physical environment by performing cleaning and sanitation activities focused primarily on patient exam and inpatient rooms, surgery areas, utilities, and the general environment within the healthcare facility.

This position demands a high level of proficiency in basic and advanced cleaning skills, emphasizing infection control and safety. The role requires a thorough understanding and practical application of cleaning chemicals, equipment, techniques, and protocols to uphold Seattle Children’s quality standards. The Housekeeper must demonstrate competence in the safe handling and removal of medical and hazardous waste, ensuring the hospital environment remains both visually clean and health-risk-free. Effective communication skills in English—speaking, reading, writing, and understanding—are mandatory, as well as a demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently within a healthcare setting. This role provides a vital service that supports the hospital’s commitment to patient safety and comfort, reinforcing the organization’s overall mission. Candidates with experience in hospital or hospitality cleaning environments and customer service are preferred, along with vocational training certificates. This position embodies Seattle Children’s dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace that respects unique perspectives and promotes equity.
