Job Requirements

  • Must complete and maintain any required food and work safety trainings and certifications
  • Able to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed
  • Reliable and predictable attendance in accordance with attendance policy
  • Ability to engage customers in a friendly and respectful manner
  • Must be able to stand and walk frequently throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally with team assistance
  • Ability to climb stairs, step stools, or ladders occasionally

Job Qualifications

  • Previous customer service, food service, retail or grocery experience preferred
  • Knowledge of retail operations or housekeeping experience preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively in a team
  • Familiarity with cleaning equipment and safe handling of products
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Ability to follow safety and food handling regulations
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities

Job Duties

  • Maintain whole store cleanliness including sales floor, restrooms, deli seating area, offices, hallways, stairs, and staff break room
  • Clean break room refrigerators including composting outdated food and proper disposal
  • Empty trash, recycling, and compost through entire store including departments, break rooms, offices, and outside areas
  • Keep parking lot clean of debris and trash including bottle return areas
  • Sort clean laundry and assist in preparing dirty laundry for pick-up
  • Sweep, vacuum, dust, scrub, mop, wash, and operate steam cleaners, dishwashers, and other cleaning equipment
  • Restock deli seating area, restrooms, and cleaning supplies
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks as assigned
  • Handle damaged and spoiled products in accordance with company policy
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and rotation of all areas, products, and supplies
  • Understand and comply with shift guidelines, tasks, and responsibilities
  • Maintain awareness of current ads, promotions, holidays, and events
  • Assist occasionally with bagging groceries and customer carry-outs
  • Demonstrate product familiarity and willingness to learn
  • Notify management of customer service, safety, productivity, security, or other issues
  • Utilize various tools and equipment including baler, hand truck, POS, and kitchen equipment when necessary
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned
  • Demonstrate adherence to company rules, policies, and safety practices
