Working in a beautiful private residence
Job Description
This job opening is for a Part Time Housekeeper position located in Dana Point, California, within a warm and respectful private family residence. Dana Point is a coastal city known for its beautiful beaches, luxury homes, and a friendly community atmosphere, making it an exceptional place to work and live. The private family is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented housekeeper to maintain their beautiful primary residence to an exceptional standard. This role offers a long-term opportunity for a professional who enjoys creating a clean, orderly, and welcoming home environment while working independently in a well-managed household.
The residence is a spacious two-story private home covering approximately 5,420 square feet. The household includes two principals and their 18-year-old daughter, making it a moderately sized family residence. Candidates should be ready to work in a pet-friendly environment as the family includes one dog, two cats, a small bulldog, a koi pond, and a reef aquarium. Basic pet care, such as feeding, will be part of the daily responsibilities.
This part-time position offers schedule flexibility with two options: Option 1 involves working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and Option 2 requires working Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Compensation is set at $750 per week on a gross basis. The expected start date for the position is May 2026.
The housekeeper's primary duties include daily housekeeping tasks such as laundry and garment care, changing bed linens, dusting, detailed surface care, vacuuming, and floor maintenance. Responsibilities extend to cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, kitchen upkeep, keeping the overall house tidy, and managing trash and recycling. Additional tasks involve feeding the household pets, maintaining organization throughout the home, completing a daily task list provided by the principals, and occasionally running local errands. The family utilizes the Nines Home Management software system to communicate, coordinate projects, and monitor progress on household initiatives like seasonal deep cleaning and organization, so the candidate must be comfortable using computers and basic digital tools.
Ideal candidates will have experience working in private homes, preferably for high-net-worth families. They will demonstrate discretion, trustworthiness, and a strong respect for privacy. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with high cleanliness standards who is reliable, punctual, self-directed, and comfortable working independently. English fluency is mandatory, as well as comfort around animals given the pet-filled environment. Physical ability to perform routine housekeeping duties is required, along with the ability to drive for errands using the candidate's own vehicle.
This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work in a beautiful home environment, supporting a family with high standards who value respect and professionalism. The candidate will enjoy a supportive, well-managed household that values their expertise and dedication. The combination of flexible hours, competitive compensation, and the chance to work in a prestigious setting makes this job a standout opportunity for qualified housekeepers looking for long-term roles.
