Job Description

Lehigh Valley Health Network, situated at 480 Cedar Crest Boulevard in Allentown, PA, is a prominent healthcare provider serving the community with a wide range of medical services. As part of the Crothall Healthcare family, a Compass Healthcare company, the network combines high standards of patient care with innovative support services to ensure a safe, clean, and healing environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Crothall Healthcare specializes in Environmental Services (EVS) among other healthcare support services, offering specialized cleaning and facility management tailored specifically for healthcare settings. With nearly 30,000 team members across multiple accounts, Crothall maintains a reputation for quality, safety, and operational excellence focused on infection control and environment safety within healthcare facilities.

The role being offered is for a part-time Housekeeper within the Ambulatory Services team at Lehigh Valley Health Network. This position works Monday through Friday from 5:00 pm to 11:30 pm, providing cleaning services for outpatient clinics and other ambulatory care environments. The fixed pay rate is $17.25 per hour, and the role notably offers no weekend or holiday shifts, making it an attractive option for candidates seeking consistent evening hours without weekend obligations. The Housekeeper is responsible for executing specialized cleaning protocols with the intent of disinfecting ambulatory healthcare facilities. This includes cleaning restrooms, patient areas, exam rooms, procedure rooms, and other specialty spaces essential to maintaining a sanitary healthcare environment. The duties focus heavily on infection control practices, utilizing hospital-grade chemicals and disinfectants to reduce the presence of pathogens and ensure a safe patient experience.

This role requires hands-on work including dusting, polishing furniture and fittings, cleaning entrance and reception glass, moving equipment to facilitate cleaning, and thorough floor care including vacuuming, mopping, and spot cleaning. Additionally, the Housekeeper manages waste, including biohazardous disposal, replenishes consumables like soap and paper towels, and maintains cleaning equipment in optimal condition. Knowledge of alarm system operations and ensuring security protocols during cleaning shifts also forms part of the role. Candidates with prior housekeeping experience are preferred, especially with familiarity in healthcare environmental services. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required for handling equipment and supplies.

Crothall and Lehigh Valley Health Network provide an empowering workplace culture built on respect, belonging, and personal growth. Employees are supported in their career development and are encouraged to take pride in their contribution to the healthcare community. This position is a critical component in providing a hygienic and safe healthcare environment that supports both patient care and staff functionality. Comprehensive employee benefits are offered including health and wellness programs, retirement plans, and various voluntary insurance options. Part-time associates enjoy perks such as no weekend and no holiday work schedules, which help maintain a healthy work-life balance. The employer is committed to equal employment opportunity and fostering an inclusive workplace where diversity is embraced. Overall, this position offers a meaningful career path for individuals passionate about maintaining cleanliness and safety in a healthcare setting while benefiting from supportive employment terms and a positive team environment.
