Crothall Healthcare is currently hiring for part-time Housekeeper positions in Ambulatory Services at MUSC University Hospital located at 169 Ashley Avenue, Charleston, South Carolina. This role offers a part-time schedule with approximately 20 hours per week, and work hours and days may vary including weekends and holidays. The Housekeeper in Ambulatory Services will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in ambulatory healthcare facilities. This includes disinfecting patient areas, restrooms, exam rooms, procedure rooms, and other specialized areas. The role requires attention to detail in cleaning to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Duties include disinfecting surfaces with hospital-approved chemicals, cleaning furniture, vents, windows, floors, carpets, and upholstery, and managing waste disposal including biohazardous materials. Additionally, the housekeeper is responsible for replenishing supplies such as soap and paper products, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety protocols including alarm system management. This position directly contributes to the quality and safety standards of the healthcare facility and helps create an environment where healthcare professionals can provide optimal care.

Job Duties

  • Disinfects surfaces with provided chemicals
  • dusts and polishes furniture and fittings, vents, window sills, and ledges
  • cleans reception glass and entrance windows
  • moves chairs/stools, waste/linen/biohazardous bins, small equipment on wheels, scales, and other items for proper cleaning
  • realigns items according to recommended layout
  • cleans floors including sweeping, dusting, mopping, and vacuuming
  • performs carpet spot cleaning and upholstery spot cleaning
  • collects and disposes of general trash and biohazardous waste
  • performs routine cleaning on general trash and biohazardous waste containers
  • replenishes soap, sanitizer, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, and other items
  • maintains equipment, tools and storage areas in clean and orderly operating condition
  • works with alarm systems to arm and disarm
  • performs other duties as assigned
