Villa Fairmont MHRC is a licensed mental health rehabilitation center with a capacity of 96 beds, dedicated to serving adults aged 18 to 65. The Housekeeper plays a vital role within Villa Fairmont MHRC’s team, tasked with maintaining the cleanliness and sanitary condition of the facility to provide a safe, healthy, and pleasant environment for clients, staff, and visitors. This position is essential in supporting the center’s mission by ensuring that the physical environment aligns with the standards necessary for high-quality mental health care. Housekeepers perform a variety of duties involving cleaning, servicing, and upkeep of the building’s interior spaces, ensuring all areas are orderly and attractive.

Shifts for this role include full-time positions from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday as well as part-time evening positions from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM Friday through Monday. The starting wage for this position is $21.78 per hour, and pay rates reflect geographic differentials based on the location of the employee. The Housekeeper role requires a person with good communication skills, a desire to work with mentally impaired adults, and the ability to follow detailed instructions. Candidates must be willing to undergo fingerprinting and a Department of Justice clearance to ensure the safety and security of the facility's residents.

This role demands physical stamina and involves activities such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing, dusting, waste removal, and laundry distribution. The housekeeper also plays an active role in safety and emergency procedures, demonstrating sound judgment and initiative in their daily tasks. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • one year of relevant cleaning experience required
  • ability to communicate effectively in english
  • valid fingerprint clearance from Department of Justice
  • physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting bending walking and standing
  • ability to follow safety and infection control protocols
  • willingness to work assigned shifts which may be full-time or part-time
  • commitment to maintaining a clean and sanitary environment
  • ability to work in a mental health rehabilitation facility environment
  • willingness to undergo background checks and adhere to union membership requirements

Job Qualifications

  • one year of relevant experience in hotel motel health care or similar environment preferred
  • experience in health care setting is preferred
  • high school graduation or G.E.D. preferred
  • ability to read write and speak english effectively
  • good communication skills
  • desire to work with mentally impaired adults
  • ability to follow written and verbal directions
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • fingerprint clearance and no convictions except minor traffic offenses

Job Duties

  • perform cleaning tasks according to policies and procedures
  • sweep mop vacuum buff strip wash and shampoo floors
  • clean and dust furniture closets telephone areas and vents
  • polish and sanitize sinks counters stainless steel surfaces and waste receptacles
  • empty and clean waste containers transport medical waste as directed
  • wash windows walls draperies and rugs as directed
  • wash mops rags and linen as directed
  • gather and return cleaning supplies and equipment daily
  • distribute clean laundry and collect dirty laundry as directed
  • participate as a team member report observations concerns and ask questions
  • demonstrate proper use of equipment and supplies
  • report defective equipment and needed repairs
  • execute fire disaster and safety procedures as required
  • assist with management of assaultive behavior upon request
  • report fire and accident hazards to supervisor
  • demonstrate good rapport and cooperative relationships with team members
  • focus on assigned tasks seek improvements
