The role available is for a facility maintenance team member focused on maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility to ensure a healthy, safe, and appealing environment for residents, visitors, and employees. This position is integral to the overall operation of the facility, as cleanliness directly impacts resident satisfaction and health outcomes. The ideal candidate will take pride and ownership in their work, recognizing the importance of their contribution to the facility's welcoming atmosphere. As part of the essential functions of the role, the maintenance staff will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing areas such as resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, and bathrooms. Additional duties involve the correct use and storage of cleaning solutions, the safe handling and removal of infectious waste, and ensuring punctuality as well as regular attendance.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred
  • able to read and write at a level appropriate for the job
  • able to communicate effectively with residents, family members and facility staff
  • knowledge of infection control techniques
  • ability to be patient and polite
  • cleared to work following state-specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients or residents

Job Duties

  • Cleans and sanitizes resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, bathrooms and other areas of the facility
  • safely mixes and uses cleaning solutions and stores in a secure area
  • labels and removes infectious waste bags and containers
  • ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts
  • performs other tasks as assigned
  • conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the company’s code of business conduct, its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards
  • communicates effectively with residents, family members and facility staff
