The role of Housekeeper at Prairie Vista Village is vital to maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility, which directly influences the well-being and safety of its residents. The position is part-time, offering up to 29 hours per week with 8-hour shifts, and work hours may vary during the day. The housekeeper will use mechanized cleaning equipment, handle cleaning solvents and chemicals safely with personal protective equipment, and ensure the environment remains infection-free and sanitary. This job also includes responding to resident requests when reasonably possible, contributing further to the residents’ comfort and satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work up to 29 hours per week
  • Willingness to work varying daytime hours
  • Ability to use mechanized cleaning equipment
  • Capability to handle cleaning chemicals safely with PPE
  • Physical ability to work in damp, dusty, and sometimes unsanitary conditions
  • Ability to respond to resident requests within reason

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Operate various mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums and shampooers
  • Work in damp, dusty, and dirty areas
  • Clean up human waste and other body fluids as needed
  • Handle various cleaning solvents and chemicals using proper personal protection equipment
  • Fulfill reasonable resident requests
  • Maintain the facility's general cleanliness to ensure a sanitary and infection-free condition
  • Support the mission of enriching residents' lives through effective housekeeping
