The position offered is that of a Lead Housekeeper, which is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance operations within the facility. Working under broad supervision, the Lead Housekeeper performs a combination of duties that ensure all facility areas are maintained orderly, sanitary, and clean. This role requires someone who can operate effectively with minimal supervision and act as a resource or expert within their assigned areas. The Lead Housekeeper may also have supervisory responsibilities, guiding and directing the work of housekeepers or cleaning personnel, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and according to established protocols.

Key responsibilities include cleaning and organizing specific areas, ensuring the upkeep and proper functioning of laundry, housekeeping, and floor equipment, and maintaining adequate supplies and equipment. The role also involves specialized tasks such as making and mending clothing and other necessary items, including restraints, helmets, surgical gowns, upholstery, and mattresses. Additionally, the Lead Housekeeper is expected to operate both hand tools and power cleaning equipment safely and effectively, with an emphasis on adhering to rigorous safety standards, particularly in the disposal of contaminated refuse to prevent infection or hazard.

This position also entails planning, developing, scheduling, and implementing laundry services, demonstrating leadership and organizational skills. Candidates will be expected to have at least one year of experience in a lead worker role within related areas or an equivalent level of experience as a Housekeeper 2 or similar positions. Preferred qualifications may include further specialized experience or skills as determined by the hiring agency.

Job Duties

  • Mends and makes minor alterations to residents' clothing and other items
  • Makes simple repairs to upholstery and mattresses
  • Observes required safety precautions in disposing of contaminated refuse
  • Operates hand tools and power cleaning equipment
  • Plans, develops, schedules and implements laundry services
