Job Description

Ace Hardware Corporation is a renowned American retail hardware cooperative known for its commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service. Established with a strong foundation built on core values encapsulated by the acronym W.E.L.I.G.H.T (Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork), Ace Hardware differentiates itself by fostering a workplace culture that values gratitude, humility, and respect. The company caters to a broad customer base by offering over 75,000 products through its extensive network of stores, distribution centers, and corporate headquarters across the United States. This leads to a dynamic working environment where employees are supported in their professional and personal growth with competitive benefits and career development opportunities.

The role being offered is for a Warehouse Associate, focusing on maintaining cleanliness and operational efficiency within one of Ace Hardware's Distribution Centers. This is a part-time role with a consistent Sunday through Thursday schedule, working from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Compensation starts at $19.25 per hour, with an additional $1.25 shift differential, which reflects the company's commitment to fair and competitive wages. As a Warehouse Associate, you will play a vital role in supporting the warehouse operations by managing essential tasks related to housekeeping and safety. Responsibilities include the operation of warehouse equipment such as tuggers, forklifts, scissor lifts, and the Tennant floor scrubber, requiring the ability to learn safe and proper usage of these tools. The role also involves baling cardboard, cleaning spills (including hazardous chemical cleanup certification), trash removal, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining warehouse break rooms and bathrooms.

Beyond the operational duties, this position requires adherence to company policies and a commitment to safety. The ideal candidate is one who champions workplace safety by adhering to proper personal protective equipment usage, safe equipment handling, and employing efficient lifting techniques. Physical requirements include the ability to walk or stand for extended periods, frequently stoop, squat, and kneel, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and willing to undergo pre-employment screenings including drug and background tests.

Ace Hardware values long-term career opportunities and has developed programs such as the Dock to Driver program, offering employees pathways for career advancement through training and paid CDL licensure. Additional incentives include a competitive paid time off policy, holiday pay, health benefits encompassing medical, dental, vision, and disability coverage, life insurance, and a robust 401(k) retirement plan with generous company contributions. Other perks include tuition reimbursement, employee recognition initiatives, merchandise discounts on top brands like Weber and Craftsman, and access to an Employee Assistance Program providing counseling and legal consultations.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking a company that embodies strong values and supports employee well-being and advancement. Ace Hardware is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, promoting diversity and inclusivity across its workforce, and encourages all qualified individuals regardless of race, gender identity, age, or veteran status to apply. Joining Ace Hardware means becoming a crucial part of a team dedicated to helping customers maintain and improve their homes while nurturing your own career path in a supportive and dynamic environment.
