The Vessel Housekeeper role at Flagship Cruises & Events is an integral position dedicated to ensuring that every vessel remains immaculate, sanitized, and guest-ready at all times. The Vessel Housekeeper is responsible for performing diverse cleaning duties across passenger and crew areas within a fast-paced maritime setting. This includes routine cleaning and sanitization of carpeted and hard flooring areas, furniture polishing, waste management, restroom maintenance, and upkeep of metallic and glass surfaces to prevent corrosion and maintain an inviting ambiance.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
minimum one year of housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or related cleaning experience preferred
working knowledge of cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing methods, materials, and equipment preferred
ability to follow verbal and written instructions and accept direction from supervisors
strong attention to detail
ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
dependable with a strong work ethic
ability to communicate professionally
must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings
must successfully pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening
may be required to apply for a transportation workers identification card (TWIC)
must be able to lift, pull, and push up to 50lbs
ability to bend, rotate, and reach frequently
capable of ascending and descending stairs or ladders safely
ability to maneuver through small and confined spaces within the vessel
must maintain static and dynamic standing balance to complete duties

Job Duties

Assist with the daily operations and overall functions of the housekeeping department to ensure vessels are maintained in a clean, safe, and guest-ready condition
perform routine cleaning and sanitization of assigned vessel areas, including passenger spaces, crew areas, and restrooms
vacuum carpets and dining areas
sweep and mop hard surface floors
dust and polish furniture, light fixtures, lamps, window ledges, and other surfaces using appropriate cleaning products and techniques
clean and polish metal fixtures, fittings, railings, and other vessel surfaces to maintain appearance and prevent corrosion
clean glass surfaces, windows, mirrors, and other reflective surfaces to ensure a streak-free finish
empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and properly dispose of waste in accordance with company procedures
clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms, ensuring all fixtures and supplies are maintained throughout the shift
maintain housekeeping equipment, cleaning supplies, and storage areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner
identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or damaged equipment to the appropriate supervisor
follow all company policies, safety procedures, and sanitation standards, including the proper handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
perform other housekeeping and operational duties as assigned to support the needs of the fleet
