The Housekeeper position at RPM Living is an essential role responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal of multifamily property grounds, building exteriors, leasing offices, parking lots, and various common areas. This role requires a hands-on individual dedicated to upholding high standards of property upkeep to enhance resident satisfaction and contribute to an inviting community atmosphere. The Housekeeper’s duties include regular custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal to maintain common areas, as well as grounds work directed by the Maintenance or Community Manager. The role also involves specific tasks such as cleaning dumpster areas, trash rooms, trash chutes, power washing sidewalks and parking areas, and detailed cleaning of breezeways. Effective collaboration with maintenance teams, other departments, and external contractors is vital to ensure seamless property maintenance, promote teamwork, and guarantee compliance with safety and cleanliness regulations. Physical stamina and dexterity are necessary as the position requires walking, standing, climbing stairs or ladders, and occasionally lifting objects up to 50 pounds. Flexibility in working hours including weekdays, nights, and weekends is essential to meet business needs effectively. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite knowledge
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs or ladders
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop or kneel
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to grasp tools
  • Ability to see to perform inspections and read computer screens
  • Ability to hear and understand verbal communication in person and over phone or computer
  • Ability to lift or carry items up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
  • Ability to operate computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs or ladders and access various areas of the property
  • Physical dexterity including ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and grasp tools
  • Ability to lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to operate computer and office equipment
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to teamwork and collaboration

Job Duties

  • Perform regular custodial duties around the property and maintain common areas including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and removing trash
  • Complete grounds work as directed by maintenance manager and community manager including picking up trash, cleaning dumpster areas, trash rooms, trash chutes, blowing parking area and sidewalks, removing debris, power washing
  • Thoroughly clean breezeways by removing cobwebs, bugs in lights, mopping floors, power washing, and wiping down doors and handrails
  • Collaborate effectively with maintenance team members, other departments, and external contractors to ensure seamless property maintenance and foster teamwork
  • Assess property safety and cleanliness standards, ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Keep property in top-notch condition through interior and exterior painting and delivering notices to apartments
