We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Cleaning Staff member to join our team. This position focuses on performing general cleaning duties and associated services in both resident and non-resident areas within our facility. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who takes pride in cleanliness and is committed to upholding the safety and sanitation standards necessary in a healthcare setting.
As a Cleaning Staff member, you will be responsible for a range of tasks including dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, cleaning resident rooms, replenishing supplies, and maintaining housekeeping closets. You will ensure that all areas are spotless by cleaning sinks, faucets, toilets, showers, tubs, walls, doors, and other surfaces daily. Your duties will also include handling waste disposal, washing mirrors and interior glass, and caring for equipment and supplies economically and safely.
The position calls for adherence to specific protocols for spill cleanup, including potentially hazardous substances such as blood and mercury, underscoring the importance of attention to safety measures. Job Duties
- Performs various cleaning duties such as dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming
- Responsible for stocking and restocking housekeeping closets
- Responsible for setting up linen carts
- Responsible for cleaning resident's rooms cleans sinks, faucets, pipes, toilets, showers and tubs daily
- Spot washes walls, doors, frames and other dust and dirt collecting areas daily
- Empties and washes wastepaper baskets
- Checks and replenishes soap and paper supplies
- Cleans interior glass and washes mirrors daily
- Hand dusts, vacuums carpets on as needed basis
- Responsible for safe and economical use of equipment and supplies and cleaning of equipment
- Maintains cleanliness of aides’ carts and closet in assigned areas
- Responsible for picking up broken glass if needed
- Responsible for picking blood spills
- Responsible for picking up mercury spills
- Responsible for making beds on as needed basis
- Arranges furniture in an orderly fashion
- Removes trash and linen throughout the facility, scrubs trashcans and covers, breaks up cartons daily
- Washes walls, ceilings, lights and interior glass
- Reports building and maintenance repairs to supervisor
- Performs other duties as assigned
