This position involves a variety of tasks ranging from daily sanitizing and cleaning to light maintenance duties, contributing directly to the overall positive experience of visitors. The Housekeeper will be responsible for executing cleaning duties such as mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, and pool cleaning. Additionally, the role involves seasonal activities like lawn care and snow removal and operating related motorized and non-motorized equipment safely and efficiently. Beyond cleaning, the Housekeeper also performs light repairs, including replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and painting, and must report any larger repair needs to supervisors promptly.
Working as a Housekeeper at the YMCA entails upholding the organization’s strict COVID-19 sanitation practices and standards to ensure the safety and well-being of the community. The position requires physical strength and agility, comfort with heights and ladders, and the ability to handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely. The Housekeeper is a vital team member responsible for ensuring that the YMCA building and grounds remain secure during their shift, reporting any hazards or incidents, and assisting with event setups to contribute to a welcoming environment.
