Job Description
Element by Marriott is part of the Marriott International family, a globally recognized hospitality leader known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and guest satisfaction. Element stands out as a unique brand within this portfolio, focused on providing travelers with not just a place to stay but a place to thrive. The brand embodies an eco-minded philosophy and a passion for well-being, aiming to help guests feel fresh, focused, and alive during their stays. Whether guests are visiting for a few days or staying longer, Element ensures they experience a warm, comforting environment enabled by a multidimensional and approachable staff dedicated to excellent service.
This position is for a Guest Environment Expert at Element's location in Reno, Nevada. This is a full-time, non-management role that primarily involves various housekeeping duties to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the entire hotel property. The pay range for this role is $18.27 per hour. Overnight shifts are preferred for this opportunity. While previous experience in housekeeping is preferred, dedicated training and a supportive work environment make it a good opportunity for motivated individuals striving to excel in hospitality.
The Guest Environment Expert role is vital to the hotel’s success because it goes beyond basic cleaning duties. Individuals in this role contribute significantly to creating memorable guest experiences by ensuring that rooms and public areas are spotless, inviting, and well-stocked. They have the autonomy to move freely and address whatever needs arise to maintain the hotel's standards. This includes responding to guest requests promptly, stocking housekeeping carts, cleaning guest rooms and public spaces, and sometimes performing additional duties to enhance overall operations.
A critical aspect of the role is adherence to safety protocols, company policies, and quality standards. Guest Environment Experts must maintain a professional demeanor, including their uniform, personal appearance, and communication. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. Additionally, it involves hands-on work such as lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Successful incumbents consistently perform these duties to support the hotel’s reputation for guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
At Marriott International, diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity are core pillars of the workplace culture. Element embraces these values by fostering an environment where varied backgrounds and talents are celebrated and differences are valued. This inclusive approach extends to their employment policies, ensuring non-discrimination on any legally protected basis, including disability and veteran status. Joining Element means becoming part of a global team committed to offering opportunities for growth, development, and professional achievement within the broader Marriott International network.
For individuals passionate about hospitality and dedicated to creating welcoming spaces, the Guest Environment Expert position at Element Reno offers a rewarding career path. This role is perfect for those who are active optimists, enjoy connecting with guests and colleagues, and want to contribute to a sustainable and guest-centric hotel environment. The position offers a chance to be part of a brand that prioritizes wellness, ecological awareness, and a balanced lifestyle, while delivering outstanding service in a collaborative setting. Being part of the Element team means you can be your best self, belong to a dynamic workforce, and begin a purposeful career in hospitality.
