This position is for a Housekeeper on the Ft. Thomas Environmental Services Team at St. Elizabeth Healthcare. This is a regular, full-time role offering a schedule of 40 hours per week on the first shift. The housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in patient and non-patient areas, creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role requires a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality, as well as respect and empathy in all interactions with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues. The housekeeper will perform routine and detailed cleaning tasks, including high dusting and restroom sanitation, and will handle waste removal efficiently. This role is vital to infection control and overall hospital hygiene, directly impacting patient satisfaction and the healthcare facility's quality standards.

Job Duties

  • Performs daily cleaning procedures in patient and non-patient areas in order to provide a clean and safe environment for the patients, visitors and staff of the hospital
  • Completes detailed cleaning duties (high dusting, the cleaning of blinds, etc.) on a weekly basis or upon discharge/transfer of a patient in order to obtain high results on quality assurance inspections as well as patient satisfaction
  • Cleans, sanitizes and deodorizes restrooms to ensure that they meet quality expectations
  • Removes trash from the areas being cleaned to a central location to facilitate the removal of trash from the building
  • Attends in-service programs, meetings and completes Net Learning modules as required by the hospital
  • Follows applicable safety steps required to perform duties ensuring safety for themselves and patients, complying with hospital, state and federal safety standards
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the applicable principles of growth and development over the life span of those they serve
  • Performs other duties as assigned
