The Room Attendant position is central to the hotel’s housekeeping department, responsible for the cleanliness and orderliness of guest rooms, public spaces, and designated areas. This role requires a dedicated individual who can efficiently perform a variety of cleaning tasks while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor with guests. The room attendant’s duties include cleaning guest rooms thoroughly by dusting, vacuuming, changing linens, and making beds according to established standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to stand walk bend and lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexibility to work nights weekends and holidays
- Strong communication skills
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
- Ability to maintain guest privacy and security standards
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a related role is a plus
- Attention to detail and knowledge in proper cleaning techniques chemicals and equipment
- Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and team members
- Basic understanding of safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work independently and efficiently to complete assigned rooms and organize housekeeping carts
Job Duties
- Clean and tidy guest rooms according to established standards including dusting vacuuming changing linens and making beds
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms including fixtures surfaces and amenities
- Dust and wipe down furniture surfaces and decorative items in guest rooms and public areas
- Refill supplies such as toiletries towels and linens in guest rooms
- Empty trash bins and replace liners in guest rooms and common areas
- Sweep mop and vacuum floors in guest rooms hallways and public spaces
- Identify and report any maintenance or repair needs to appropriate personnel
