The role of a Housekeeper at The Ritz-Carlton is integral to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and comfort that the brand is known for. This position involves responding promptly to guest and departmental requests, ensuring guest rooms and public areas are impeccably maintained. Responsibilities include restocking supplies, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming carpets, and performing other essential housekeeping duties. Attention to detail is critical, from checking that all appliances are present and operational to polishing and dusting furniture and walls. The Housekeeper must adhere strictly to safety and security protocols, report maintenance issues or hazards, and maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary information. This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift, push, and move equipment and supplies safely.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to follow safety and security policies and procedures
  • Ability to respond promptly to guest requests
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull objects over 25 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to reach overhead and below knees including bending and twisting
  • Ability to maintain a clean and professional personal appearance
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally

Job Duties

  • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments
  • Fill cart with supplies and transport cart to assigned area
  • Enter guest rooms following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before entering
  • Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms
  • Replace dirty linens and terry with clean items
  • Make beds and fold terry
  • Clean bathrooms
  • Remove trash, dirty linen, and room service items
  • Check that all appliances are present in the room and in working order
  • Straighten desk items, furniture, and appliances
  • Dust, polish, and remove marks from walls and furnishings
  • Vacuum carpets and perform floor care duties in guest rooms and hallways
