Job Duties

  • Performs routine cleaning of hospital areas including patient rooms, patient care units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways
  • washes windows, walls, floors, beds, and furniture upon patient discharge
  • applies clean linen on disinfected patient beds
  • utilizes appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
  • uses and maintains equipment properly
  • transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area
  • replenishes supplies
  • reports any furniture, fixtures, building, equipment repairs required to supervisor
  • follows all infection prevention and control practices including handwashing and isolation precautions
  • maintains set quality standards when performing job duties
  • completes work assignments in a timely manner
  • performs other duties as required
  • strives to create a safe, healing environment for patients and family members
  • follows all safety rules on the job
  • reports near misses, errors, and accidents promptly
