Job Duties
- Performs routine cleaning of hospital areas including patient rooms, patient care units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways
- washes windows, walls, floors, beds, and furniture upon patient discharge
- applies clean linen on disinfected patient beds
- utilizes appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
- uses and maintains equipment properly
- transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area
- replenishes supplies
- reports any furniture, fixtures, building, equipment repairs required to supervisor
- follows all infection prevention and control practices including handwashing and isolation precautions
- maintains set quality standards when performing job duties
- completes work assignments in a timely manner
- performs other duties as required
- strives to create a safe, healing environment for patients and family members
- follows all safety rules on the job
- reports near misses, errors, and accidents promptly
- corrects minor safety hazards
